Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Cochin

After arriving at Cochin international airport Traveda Tour representative will meet and greet and transfer you to the reserved hotel. Check in and relax after the travel. After freshening up, head outside for sightseeing tour of the historical Cochin city dotted with a number of Portuguese, Dutch and British architecture. Visit the Jewish Synagogue, constructed way back in the year 1568. Also known as Paradesi Synagogue, it has beautiful hand-painted Chinese tiles in white and blue colors, Next in line is the oldest European church of the India, the St. Francis Church. Thereafter, visit the Dutch Palace, later head towards the Chinese fishing nets. The evening is scheduled for attending a Kathakali performance. Overnight at hotel.

Day 2 - Cochin-Kumarakom(48 kms)

This morning after breakfast at hotel, start your mesmerizing backwater marine drive to our Ayurveda retreat at Kumarakom. Kumarakom is a bunch of little islands in the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, is a charming backwater goal in God’s Own Country. This drive take a speed pontoon ship administration through the charming backwaters, to reach Kumarakom which will take 2 and half hours of voyage. Upon arrival at Kumarakom check-in to your resort and relax. After freshening up, head outside for ‘Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary’ is home to numerous species including cuckoos and Siberian storks. Adjacent, the Bay Island Driftwood Museum shows wooden figures. In the lake, Pathiramanal Island is a safe house for uncommon transient fowls. Old Thazhathangady Mosque is east of Kumarakom. Day 3 to 5 - At Kumarakom (Ayurveda Treatment)

Days 3 to 5 are booked for rejuvenating your tired mind, body and soul at our Ayurveda retreat. In the span of 4 days, you avail the amazing benefits of Ayurveda therapies. Your program, therapies and meals during your stay at the resort are decided by the resident doctor. During these days, you consume only vegetarian diet and no alcohol or tobacco is allowed. You indulge in herbal body massages, yoga and meditation sessions, yogic meals high on nutritional value, steam baths, beauty treatments and so on. This will be a great experience leaving you completely refreshed. You can also read Ayurveda books during your free time.

Day 6 - Kumarakom - Alappuzha

After having breakfast at resort, start your journey to the next destination Alappuzha. From the mid-nineteenth century, Alappuzha (or “Alleppey”) served as the main port for the backwater region. Spices, coffee, tea, cashews, coir and other produce were shipped out from the inland waterways to the sea via its grid of canals and rail lines. Tourist literature loves to dub the town as “The Venice of the East”. Apart from a handful of colonial-era warehouses and mansions, and a derelict pier jutting into the sea from a sun-blasted and dirty beach, few monuments survive. On arrival at Alappuzha, check-in to your hotel and relax. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities. You can visit The Ambalapuzha Temple is one of the oldest ‘Krishna temples in both Kerala as well as India. While in Alleppey, do make sure to visit Karumadikkuttan, a statue of Buddha, made of black granite stone. Only half of the statue has stood the test of time. However, it is one of the most-visited sites in Alleppey, especially by people who are keen to understand the evolution of Buddhism in Kerala. Another intriguing temple to visit in Alleppey is the Mannarasala Sri Nagaraja Temple, devoted to the worship of snakes. The temple, shrouded by a forest, is sure to evoke a unique feeling.Over night stay at hotel.

Day 7 - Alappuzha Sightseeing, later transfer to Kovalam

Next day after breakfast we will do the sightseeing tour of Alappuzha. The whole point of visiting Alleppey is to enjoy the stunning sceneries of lakes, backwaters and lagoons. And there are innumerable water bodies throughout the town. Here are a few of them – The Kuttanad region of Alleppey is surrounded by sea, hills and paddy fields, making it an indescribably beautiful place to chill in a houseboat. Apart from this Alleppey has two main beaches – the Alleppey Beach and Marari Beach. They are bothe the perfect getaways if you are looking for a quiet and peaceful place o unwind. You can take walks in the clean beaches and also drop by at the couple of parks and picnic spots that lies close to the beach. Also Alleppey has a number of quaint, giant churches that attract tourists and believers from across the world. St Mary’s Forane Church is one such, which was apparently built sometime in 835 AD.
Later, in evening get ready for this embarking houseboat ride from Alappuzha to Kovalam. You will be transferred to our Ayurveda retreat at Kovalam by a houseboat, In Kerala, houseboat is traditionally known as a Kettuvallam. This is going to be an overnight cruise in a well-equipped houseboat that comes with well-fitted rooms. The tour also includes a trained chef and a rower-cum-guide. Enjoy the peaceful ambiance and verdant environs as the boat sails on the placid water channels. Visit the paddy fields, the villages, coir industry and other delights. Do not miss spotting colorful avifauna. Overnight on-board the houseboat.

Day 8 - At Kovalam

In morning your arrival at Kovalam, have a delicious breakfast at the houseboat and do the check-out formalities, de-board the houseboat. On arrival at Kovalam check in our Ayurvada resort. Rest of the day is free for leisure activities.
Kovalam, an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favorite haunt of tourists, especially Europeans, since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse-sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programs, Catamaran cruising, etc. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night.

Day 9 - At Kovalam (Ayurveda Treatment)

On this day, we will call in the local Vaid (an Ayurvedic doctor) who will plan your diet and day’s routine. It is recommended that you should not consume alcohol or tobacco during the days of Ayurvedic therapy for reaping complete benefits of it. Also avoid exertion of any kind.
Your day’s routine will include stress-relieving massages, rejuvenating steam baths etc. Plus you will be taught yoga by experts to keep yourself fit and healthy to maintain the right body balance. Dinner according to the diet prescribed and night stay at Kovalam.

Day 10 - At Kovalam (Ayurveda Therapy)

Another day away from the hustle-bustle of a city life savouring the delightful Ayurvedic therapy at the resort. The Ayurveda spa treatments offered here will be an experience of a lifetime. Overnight in Kovalam.

Day 11 - At Kovalam ( Ayurvedic Spa)

After breakfast, spend the last day at leisure basking in the goodness of spa and Ayurvedic delectations offered to you. Night stay at the resort in Kovalam.

Day 12 - At Kovalam - Trivandrum (Departure)

On day seventh, get conveyed to Trivandrum via road and transfer to a hotel with the kind assistance of our agents. Embark on a city excursion of Trivandrum later visiting the Padmanabha Swami Temple, Shri Chitra Art Gallery etc.
Return back to the hotel in the evening for dinner and then depart afterwards to reach the airport from where you board a flight back home.
